This piece is all about the tension of stillness right before motion sets in. The cat (mid left on the canvas) is poised for attack. The center of the cat's interest is the mouse hole (center of canvas, touching the cat's nose). A large boomerang shape, containing the mouse hole, swirls around the cat, suggesting hunting and motion.
