A departure from my usual lighthearted and colorful pieces, here is the Angel of Overcast Skies. Some days one feels devoid of emotion or meaning, like a sky flatly blanketed with clouds. This painting was inspired by listening to Arvo Paert’s “Kyrie”. Arvo is a living Estonian classical composer who writes incredibly haunting, deep, and beautiful music. The Kyrie prayer is part of the Latin Mass, which in its entirety means “Lord have mercy; Christ have mercy; Lord have mercy”.
