I saw a leaf streaking across the skyits leaves and stem fluttered as a butterfly
I followed it as best I could
on land and see and through the woods
when it landed I scarce could believe
it contained more than I first perceived
towns and roads and mountains galore
all without anchor stretching out from shore to shore
This is my entry to the metamorphic exhibit this month. I set aside a interesting leaf this last fall and wondered what I could do with it. Nothing came to mind until I really looked at it and saw a city. Itls veins became roadways the the holes either an point of interest or a lake. I added the second leaf as an annexed peninsula.
Leaf island was done with a leaf, decorative papers and finished in a buffed beeswax coating that lend to it's patina like finish. Detail Images
