The "raindrop" shape utilized throughout this piece has been an icon I have carried with me since about 1999. Sometimes I even find myself sketching the form without even realizing that I am doing it! The pure and untouched areas of white are courtesy of strips of masking tape creating a multi-dimensional image with depth. The ferocity that eminates from this piece - much like the simultaneous wrath and beauty associated with the ever changing weather patterns in the midwest - lent way to it's name, "Thunderstorms Over the Plains".
