This piece depicts a woman wading away from the viewer into the subtle and muted blues and purples of the abstracted "water" surrounding her in the canvas. This not only literally represents what the title implies, but emotionally she has been "set adrift", searching to find her way. This piece is yet another addition to my "Contemplations on Being a Woman" series started last year.
