This piece was created durring my Sophomore year in a class called "Realist Methods". Usually in such a sterile environment where the still life was set up by a collaberative of individuals and everyone is fighting for the perfect spot, it is a struggle for me to get going. That was not the case with this piece. Layer apon layer using only a palette knife and pure oil paint piled onto the canvas created that "stucco" texture I live for. When finished I thought for a moment what to name it and "Nana's Kitchen" popped into my mind. The rest is history. Guess sometimes things just fall harmoniously into place. If only that sort of zen voodoo happened more often....
