An insane cloud mass just before dusk inspired the birth of "Aurora". Painted au plein air over a period of only a few minutes as I believe there must have been a front moving through, pushing the scene from my view rather quickly. Thank goodness the scene left such an impression on me and I was able to work in my studio from memory, fine tuning the stunning color changes imprinted in my mind.
