"My Fantasy Garden"

- by Angela Skoskie

This week's theme: Texture

Texture is one of the seven basic elements of Art; color, space, value, line, shape, form and texture. An artist uses these techniques to convey what they want their art to express. Texture is the element that can be seen and/or felt on the surface of an art piece. Texture can also be real or perceived. Real texture is how the art feels to the touch, while perceived is how it may appear to feel. From soft to jagged, or wet to dry, one thing is sure: texture adds dimension to any art work.

Art: My Fantasy Garden by Artist Angela Skoskie
"Fantasy Garden" is entirely "out of this world"! I just let my fantasy guide my brush and select the colors.Even in the absence of green, there is a cool feeling, like a wet garden at dawn. all the growing tendrils aim for the sky, ready to capture the life-giving light. The flowers have captured that light and glow like jewels!
