Freedom Flag #2

This week's theme: Red, White, & Blue

"We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty, and the pursuit of Happiness. That to secure these rights, Governments are instituted among Men, deriving their just powers from the consent of the governed."

A grand experiment that is still working 228 years later. Happy Fourth of July!

Recently I had the opportunity to paint a flag for a military family who were preparing to move overseas. They wanted something with a patriotic theme with rich primary colors to hang over their living room sofa. After such an inspiring experience, I decided to paint another on a different size and altered the waves to create an new individual piece.

Out of respect for the subject, signature is on the back of each canvas.

The main colors used are ultramarine blue, napthol crimson and white.
