In the English language, the word "orange" is uncommon because it's one of the few words that has no rhyme. As a colour orange is bold. Our eyes are drawn to orange which is why there is a colour called International Safety Orange. Orange is a statement maker. Someone who wears orange often possesses a strong personality or sense of style - or both. Orange is a stand out and week's EBSQ Art of the Day consists of work that incorporate this attention grabbing colour.
I wanted to create the feeling of warmth and beauty that Dawn exudes. She is beautiful on both the inside & outside. Dawn is self-assured but not self-absorbed. This work was done with permission using a photograph as the model.
Ms. Hunt's studio is filled with collectible pieces of vintage kitsch, which inspire her work. Her pieces have been featured in magazines and celebrity homes
One reviewer wrote, "Ms. Hunt's style can best be described as, nouveau retro." I am inspired by all things kitsch: pin up girls, big-eyed children, pity puppies and TIKI bars. These vintage things inspire my work, go through my mental filter and emerge, reshaped in a modern style. It reflects not only my inspiration but also my personality...delightfully unpretentious.
