This Sunday is Mother's Day.

Art Of The Day did a Mother's Day Theme last year but it is one of things that bears repeating.

So, as was said last year...

A mother does so much and means so much that one day hardly seems enough.

Art: La Farfalla by Artist Katherine Thornton Brown

This piece is intitled "La Farfalla" (The Butterfly) which is an asemblage which incorporated 2-D and 3-D elements. The focal is an antique glass paperweight which magnifies a tintype image of a mother and child. An antique recipe from the early 1900's has been used and "canvased" which the paperweight is attached. Original has been sold yet archival prints are available.
