extemporaneous daisy

- by W. Kevin Murray

This week's theme: Flower Of The Month

In January 2006, those viewing Art Of The Day were greeted with "In November 2004, EBSQ began it's monthly Flower Of The Month shows. Over the next two weeks, Art Of The Day will look at the 14 flowers that have been showcased so far. The January 2006 Flower Of The Month exhibit features Orchids and can be found on the EBSQ Shows page." A lot of beautiful work has been seen in these shows so it seemed like and idea very much worth revisiting.

Keep visiting Art Of The Day during the next few months for more "Flower Of The Month" and be sure to visit this month's FOTM show: "Fuchsia". It can, of course, be found on the EBSQ Shows page.

Art: extemporaneous daisy by Artist W. Kevin Murray
Having an idea is one thing, like the daisy with petals radiating far from it's center. Not finding just the right daisies until the last minute (ok, last hours before the entry deadline for this show) is another. The idea is weeks old, not having fresh daisies until late this afternoon gave me little time for preparation, hence the title for this image, "extemporaneous daisy." This image was captured in studio with a Canon 10D, 200mm F4 lens and the final photograph was printed using an Epson 2200 on 13 x 19 Premium Luster paper .
