Art: The Golden Peacock by Artist Madeline Carol Matz
This painting, "The Golden Peacock" was inspired by a radio play by Chicago playwright, Jeff Dorchen. It was aired on episode 78, Act Two of "This American Life", the PRI show hosted by Ira Glass. In the radio play, the characters are playing cards and one person says they have "three onions" meaning 3 clubs. Those three onions mentioned appear in the iron gate behind the peacock.
