Art: Candy Skies by Artist Ricky Holtman
This piece has its origination in the farm country of Pennsylvania. Beautiful farms that are well taken care of by the Amish. The process was a patchwork of different colors, but all similar values, laid beside each other in a wet in wet manner. This achieves a soft edge but a cohesive shape. The colors whole intertwining with one another. I wanted to convey a sunny day in a pastoral setting. The paper is 140 lb. cold press Arches. Painted on site after a black and white value sketch and not adhering to local color so much as felt color.
