Beach 'brellas

If you live in the Northern Hemisphere, summer is winding down. Some kids have started a new school year and those who haven't will be starting school soon. Here in the US, Monday is the Labor Day holiday. It's the unofficial last day of summer and the last holiday until the chilly winds of Halloween. This week EBSQ's Art of the Day is spending this last piece of the summer season at that oh so iconic vacation spot - the beach.

This impressionist painting is centered around a typical day at the beach.

The vibrant colors of the umbrellas remind me of morning glories, opening up their blooms at the first ray of sunlight and then closing up again when the sun vanishes from sight.
