Stonehenge, on the Salisbury Plain, England. The sinking sun throws the stones into black shadow, and it seems the stones are all there is... Gigantic forms at rest. Fallen... but alive still.
Standing stones - monoliths - fascinate and inspire me. They seem to glow with knowledge, knowledge that comes from contact with so many human generations. They provided the inspiration for my first forays into glass sculpture, where I tried to marry the transluscence of the glass with a rocky and organic exterior.

These stone have generated generations of mythology, from the Druids to the worship of the sun. They are not just the memory of a Mythology - they have become one. The stones live. They provide a unique and man-made shape to the environment, they give value to the British soul. This work shows the stones as they are... vivid reminders that mankind lives in a landscape built by giants.
