This was my entry for EBSQ's May 2008 Underwear Show. I used a limited color palette of soft blues and peach tones..

Wearing her first bra is a rite of passage for a girl into young womanhood. This painting represents that moment in time. Attitudes about underwear have definitely changed since I was growing up. I wonder if girls still feel the same way I did when I put on my first bra?

There were so many emotions... embarrassment, uncertainty, pride. Will people stare? Will the kids at school make fun? Am I pretty? Ah, the angst of adolescence!
