Art Show: The Self-Portrait Show

Self Portrait - the relationship between the artist and him/herself.

Often a self portrait is a conscious and deliberate journey of self discovery. Even if a self portrait comes about because a desire to work on facial features at 2 in the morning or simply from playing in the mirror, there is no escaping it’s exploration of that basic relationship. These portraits, regardless of the media used, are often some of the most interesting work an artist produces.

Any and all materials may be used to create your self portrait. An artist's statement is required with every entry. Tell us about the materials and process you used to create your entry and perhaps most importantly, something about what motivated you to represent yourself in the manner and media that you did. Your statement is an important element in presenting your work online and helps make your work more accessible for the viewer. If texture or other small elements are pivotal to the piece, detail shots are encouraged. Eligible entries must meet all points of the prospectus.
