This is my "Ripped Off" entry from Rachel Cruse's work "The Nightingale". I was immediately drawn to this piece when looking at Rachel's gallery because of the figure of the dancer. Rachel's painting is about the woman as property and ornament, the caged bird. I wanted with my piece to free the bird and give her back her power. So I moved her centre stage, so all eyes are on her as she dances.
