This is my 2007 RIP of Heide Reed Hibbard's contemporary piece "coffee and crossword." When I saw this in her portfolio I immediately identified with it...only when I'm trying to read the paper or do the crossword puzzle, there always seems to be a cat who thinks they are much more deserving of my attention! I painted this piece in acrylics on a stretched canvas and finished it with a satin varnish to protect and enhance the vibrant colors. This was a fun piece to paint and I thank Heide for giving me free rein of her wonderful portfolio!
