Art: Secrets of the Grail by Artist Tammy Fleetwood Moody
This is an intricate design, but rather deceptive as it depicts the role Robespierre and his men played in their Reign of Terror in the French Revolution. This piece basically symobolizes the beheading of King Louis XVI, as Marie Antoinette watches in the background behind the guillontine. I did this piece in charcoal and graphite. Much thought, time and effort went into its creation. Each item I chose to use has a significance to this time period. ( Such as Myron's disk thrower- it received much ridicule throughout Europe by common and nobles alike. Here it is depicted in satirisnm as well. The image takes on that of a court jester, but also provides the shape for the revolutionaries as well. The shell designs serve as the blades for the guillontine.) The title of the piece itself represents all of the secret societies during that time period.
