When it was proposed we re-imagine Seuss my brain started whirring. I grew up on Dr. Seuss, and have always adored the whimsy of not only the stories but the style of drawings.

However know this was a “NOT in the style of” add just enough of a twist to let my imagination roam wild. So keep in mind that my imagination is a bit off to being with I present:”The Pussy Cat in the Hat”

Here we have a Bettie Page inspired pin up girl slinking through a somewhat Seussian landscape. The colours of the landscape and the shapes of the trees are suppose to represent the Seuss world without imitating it, and the hat and stockings on our pin up girl are an obvious Homage to the original Cat in the Hat.

I truly enjoyed this challenge and I think it shows in this painting.
