This was created for the Re-imagining Seuss Show for September. I have always loved the crazy trees, cities and birds he puts as back drops to his stories. These trees create a world that is so surreal and unique that whenever I think of Seuss, I think of wiggly trees, warped buildings with Escher like stairways.
I gave it the title because like the wacky world of Seuss, the Dodo bird was excentric and unusual.
This fabric collage was inspired by some of those. It includeds hand dyed fabrics, velvet and brocade, and is embellised with hand-spun yarn and glass beads.
