I used the first lines and title of Dr. Seuss's book "One fish, two fish, red fish, blue fish" for inspiration. I am starting to get back into "animal art gallery" paintings, featuring dogs with bones, for example, and cats with birds, mice, fish, and bowls of milk. On page three of the book is the line: "Say! What a lot of fish there are!" This is what the cat is thinking--it is what put the contented little smile on his face. The book I used is the one that was read to me when I was young--kind of a nice way to use something important to me in the past!
