After the dust storm disappears into the plains, I was able to go out my upstairs balcony, outside my studio, the clouds seem to turn colors and it is now about 6:00 p.m. there is trash and leaves scattered in the yard, my husband has made it home safely with leaves and parts of tumbleweeds attached to his dusty leathers and his Harley, the pool is covered with a layer of dust, which is always the worst after a monsoon, windows are opened up again and the smell of rain quickly reminds us of spring or a Indian Summer day, fresh clean with just a hint of dust, Wow look at the mountains, purple majesty is right, the sun is slowly disappearing over the horizon and the clouds have a magenta pink grayish color that takes your breathe away, one of the most beautiful sites is a Sunset in Arizona, they are so beautiful...and suddenly it is over, as quick as it came, a reminder that this is only a "Prelude to the Monsoons." again, my intention was to paint these wonderful cloud formations when the storm started and thru my studio bedroom window and balcony, I can clearly see the mountains and this wonderful formation before me, the canvas board is small, making it easy to paint, especially with oil, it flows so nicely on the canvas.
