These two little row boats are anchored by the lake shore waiting for their 'people' to return.
Done with my favorite point holder and a crow quill nib.
I used Pelikan black ink and illustration board with a velum finish.
For me the simplicity of pen and ink and it's "portability" were important as I took the kids to the lake almost daily that summer. I wanted to work on something peaceful while I sat by the lake and my four kids, plus many others, swam and played noisily. I would have loved gliding away in a boat like one of these and just paddling off to someplace 'quiet.'
