What does the future hold? This is a question we have been asking for, well... forever. To obtain the answer, we can look to various methods of divination. Whether it's tea leaves in the bottom of a tea cup, a Ouija board or a Tarot reading - we seek answers about love, business, the lottery and life in general.

"Lifting The Veil: The Art And Tools Of Divination" is a showcase for all the things we use to peer into the mists of the future. This variety takes us from the beautiful; the familiar figures of the Tarot - to the cliché; Madame Olga's sign on the side of Hwy 12. There are legendary oracles, a wealth of old wives tales and a myriad of parlor games from every culture since civilization began so the possibilities to choose from are many and varied.

"Lifting The Veil: The Art And Tools Of Divination" is open to all media. In addition to depictions of forms of divination, artist-made divination tools are also eligible for entry. An artist's statement is required with every entry. This statement should include information about the method of divination your entry depicts. Tell us about your materials, process and something about why you chose to represent your subject in the manner or media that you did. Your statement is an important element in presenting your work online and helps make your work more accessible for the viewer. As texture or other small elements may be pivotal to the piece, detail shots are encouraged. Eligible entries need to meet all points of the prospectus. If you have any questions regarding the prospectus and its requirements, please send them to edu@ebsqart.com.
