Art: Skeletal Remains - for the Deconstructed show. by Artist Shawn Marie Hardy
Here are the remains of an unknown car--the parts slowly stripped away for use in other cars, or perhaps used in someone's art assemblage. These wonderful coils and beams are all that remain and are resting on a bed of weeds and grass. Each year that goes by, they are further weathered and decayed, which seems to add to their beauty. Beautiful deconstruction!

This image was taken in Lansing, Michigan in the Shroyer Auto Parts car cemetery. I love going there just before the sun sets, when the sun creates a golden glow over all the rusty metal. It really brings out the blues and reds and creates these beautiful, vivid hues.

This was taken with my trusty Canon T-70 SLR camera, which is already over 20 years old. I love the colors this camera produces. I used a polarizing filter, but the colors are as they were taken--au naturale.
