Ladybugs have always been thought to be "good luck", so when I saw this one in very own lavender garden, I knew I had to capture ITS moment. I also took it to be MY lucky moment.
When my children were young, THEY had a wonderful moment when they accidentally hiked into a ladybug breeding area, only to be swarmed (in a good way) by the beautiful little bugs. It's an outdoor adventure that has always made them smile. I smile at the real "luck" of being the mother of these two wonderful children.
Recently, though, a friend of mine elevated the ladybug to a "spiritual" level. She agreed, with her dying mother, that the ladybug would be a sign of the mother's "watching over" family members left behind on earth. Sure enough, days later, a ladybug landed on my friend's scarf--one that was knitted by her mother. This was THEIR moment. Oooooooh, I love how nature can envelop us with happiness.
