Spiders are an everyday occurrence around my house, and in a vast range from small yellow spotted spiders who stand guard over our grapes, graceful daddy long legs who move into the corners of our living room, and my favorite the mama spiders. These gals are HUGE, and I have a lot of respect for them. They are often found on our back porch, lugging those egg sacks around, fending off predators while fighting a vast array of bugs, spiders, toads, and frogs for a good dinner. They are very intimidating when you first see one, delicate yet deadly looking, but they are just doing what good mamas do, taking care of their young.
