A fairy and her fairy horse companion enjoy eachother’s company on a hot summer’s day. Golds and browns dominate, with golden poppies against an azure sky. This was painted in my three-step method of watercolor, ink, and colored pencil (the steps are done in the order listed). I have loved horses since I was a little girl, for their beauty and magical quality. Horses with feathered wings have been painted many times, but I thought it might be interesting to paint a horse with butterfly wings instead. Since I am primarily a fantasy artist, a fairy setting seemed appropriate!
