Prospectus

We as a species are fascinated with ourselves. We delve into the psyche, analyze beauty and we are captivated with the body. The shape of the body, how it moves, what it can do and the shear variety found in the human form; it is in these aspects and every aspect that we find interest and beauty. It is therefore no surprise human form – the figure, is always a popular subject for artists. This month we offer a chance to explore this subject in three dimensions.

This show is not for graphic depictions or pieces implying a sexual context. We ask that you focus on the figure as a whole rather than any one area of the anatomy. Entries should represent at least 2/3 of a figure.

If you have doubts about whether your piece qualifies for this exhibit, please ask. You can email all questions to edu@ebsqart.com. EBSQ reserves the right to make the final decision regarding the appropriateness of any piece entered in "The Figure In 3-D”.

Any media is welcome but all entries must be three dimensional. An artist's statement is required with every entry. Tell us about the materials and process you used to create your entry and something about why you chose to represent your subject in the manner or media that you did. You should also describe how your entry was made or constructed. Your statement is an important element in presenting your work online and helps make your work more accessible for the viewer. If texture or other small elements are pivotal to the piece, detail shots are encouraged. Eligible entries must meet all points of the prospectus. If you have any questions regarding the prospectus and its requirements, please send them to edu@ebsqart.com.
