Hibiscus is used medicinally for many types of illness, All parts of the plant are used, from the seeds to the roots. The emollient nature of the sap and seeds to the astringent quality of the flowers --and there are so many species, from Roselle, which is a febrifuge to common hibiscus used for lung problems as well as skin problems. Okra is a hibiscus member as well. This broad family of species is like a medicine chest.
