This piece is entitled "La Scala" and is from one of my 'Dia de los Muertos' or 'All Saint's Day' series. This piece was constructed by using an old antique photograph from the early 1900's of a woman and her two children on a staged staircase from Piedras Negras....and I converted this piece from their original faces to the skeleton figurals which gave this piece a very interesting and diverse serious approach to the more common cartoonesque and whimsical features of Dia de los Muertos art.
