This piece is a mixed media digital hybrid piece....which I created with an old photo PC from the early 1900's from Piedras Negras, Mexico. I was very interested in the portrait of this mother and child...the imagery seemed very suitable for a very unusual Dia de los Muertos piece....this piece is basically a tribute to a mother and her child.... This original has sepia toned inks as well as hand altered areas of conte crayon, chalk and burnt tree limbs that was used to create a dark charcoal...quite suitable as well for a Day of the Dead piece, using something that was from a dead tree to aid in creating a new piece!
