My hometown is Washington, D.C. - a city full of beauty both natural and architectural. My friends and I used go canoeing on the Potomac river below Georgetown where this painting is set. We are below the Francis Scott Key bridge with just a peek of the top of the Washington Monuement above the grove of trees that line the banks of the river.
