I think it's interesting that the works in which I incorporated 'scripts' have been among the most deliberately and minutely executed. And also their creations coincided in each case with particularly terrible, anxious, or exciting times in my life. This is something that I choose carefully to depict, and has a personal symbollic importance simultaneously with a 'literal', decodeable meaning (that is, it's not by sentences that meaning is conveyed as much as by words strung together in the viewer's eye in the space of the picture). This is the last (1995) of three works (previous two, 1990 & 91) with script looking like a page from a book or magazine. Implications are many.... and can make up meanings/associations all day long! It's a powerful element, seems to induce understatement and exacting 'overstatement' at the same time, very curious indeed...
