Art: Movement by Artist Guy David
Digital computer art, created using Freehand software.

This piece is from my Contrast series. It is influenced by the kinetic works of the 1960s-70s. In this piece, I create the illusion of movement, by duplicating the word movement, and offsetting it so that it overlaps with itself, obscuring some of the letters in a way, similar to the way movement is sometimes represented in comics. This, along with the black and white waves, create a perfect illusion of movement, so that the word movement becomes the shape of it's own meaning. In this piece I also use a font I created, called Sharp Edge.
