Lengendary race horse, Barbaro, who lost his battle with a career -ending leg injury ,was a study in motion. I tried to capture his grace and beauty, while illustrating the sheer power of his movement.. I worked on gessoed hardboard rather than canvas which gave me a very smoothe surface on which to work. I think it gives the painting a more realistic look.
