Legendary race horse, Barbaro was grace and beauty in motion.. I was commissioned to paint several works of him doing what he did best... racing. I painted them on gessoed hardboard, because I wanted a smoothe, hard surface to work on, rather than canvas, which I think gave them a slicker finished look.
