"In the Hands of Faith" is the result of a beautiful meditative experience I had while painting. Like most artists, I slip into my own little world when I paint. Without a sketch or an idea, I started to apply thick brush strokes to this canvas while music played in the background. When I finally stepped away from the easel, a Cross appeared within the painting. Now, Buddha is my muse, so I was surprised to see a Christian symbol appear in one of my paintings. However, it forced me to remember that the Divine is everywhere nurturing us and reminding us of His or Her unconditional love.
THE TITLE?
I completed this painting during turbulent personal matters. Due to the slowing market, my husband's business was not pulling the income that once paid our bills. Everyday phones were being disconnected, creditors constantly were calling, and now we were losing our house. Money seemed to be the answer to all our problems. But we didn't have any. To escape from our financial woes, I drowned myself in my painting. After discovering the Divine in this painting I quickly went with the flow. I found a hand bead and a shiny copper penny among my mess of found objects. I quickly glued them on the canvas along with the work FAITH. In seconds the painting was complete and I had felt like the weight of the world had lifted off of me. I decided to leave our financial issues to the hands of faith. Available in my Etsy shop!
