We had a high of 104 today and yes, you could fry eggs on the pavement. I tried it! You browse through magazines and see picture perfect families enjoying the heat of summer. Kids becoming future entrepreneurs with lemonade stands, nary a hair out of place. It's a lie folks! They don't show rivulets of sweat gluing one's hair to one's scalp or the cloud of steam rising as a result of evaporation or the fear of any kind of movement due to heat stroke. Yet that pitcher of lemonade looks mighty tasty. I'll get mine from the freezer though. The old hand juicer may deplete more moisture than gained. I'll just kick back in my air-conditioned living room, look at the picture, with a tall glass of fresh frozen lemonade and pretend. Could this qualify as "fantasy" art? "Fresh Lemonade" is drawn on an 8 x 10 archival rag 4 ply board. It is then sprayed with workable fixatiff to seal and protect.
