Simply one of the biggest bands of the early 70s.
The name of this band was inspired by an Australian Aboriginal custom of sleeping with a dog for warmth on a cold night - hence, a "three dog" night would be a very cold one, plus the band had 3 lead singers, so it made sense.
Some of their hits were: "Joy to the World" ...and "Mama told me not to Come" (later covered by Tom Jones, and "One (is the loneliest number)"... and so many more.... This painting was lovingly made to honor them...as well as Man's Best Friend! Hope you like it.
The original piece was done in acrylics on 12x16" canvas panel, and I offer it here as an 8x10 art print - it is GREAT Dog art!
This is a very bright and cheerful piece of art and would be great for a dog lover, nostalgic Rock & Roll fan or child's room.
The colors I used are: prussian blue (for the background) light yellow for the moon, metallic gold for the stars, bright orange for the front dog, purple for the 2nd dog, and blue for the 3rd dog, white for the 3 bones, and tan/light burnt sienna for the dirt ground. I signed it on the lower right hand side.
