
Wood Box by Sara Molano and Ronen Ashurov.
This box is about battle, war, power of Samurai ( Servant of God) and the support of his wife.
In one side of the wood box is a Representation of A Samurai Warrior Battle.
Was painted in the image Minamoto Yoshiie ("Hachimantaro" First son of the God of War) in the Battle of Kawasaki (1057 A.D.) where in a snowstorm, he fought and defeated a great nemesis.
In the other side of the wood box is a painting of a woman. While the Samurai went to battle months on end, the Samurai Women stayed behind to manage all the household affairs, care for children and and defend the home. She was trained in the art of "Tantojutsu". A special knife called the "Kaiken" was her weapon of choice which she was highly skilled in the use of.
It is acrylic on wood and has a bamboo handle to be carry like a purse.
