This is Super Mario World : Take Flight. It is an original 11 X 14 Video Game painting starring Mario by the artist J A Blackwell.
     "I guess you could say that I think Super Mario World is the best platformer ever made. I must have played and beaten it at least 20 times and played it on various platforms...the newest being the new 3ds...Although I think its rubbish that you have to have the new 3DS to play super Nintendo games....Anyway...
     I wanted to show a cross between a new fresh looking somewhat distant looking back ground and the 16 bit sprites. I also put a slight shading around the 16 bit graphics to show a slight cut out 3D effect.
     Ill probably always paint Mario and some of the classic games I grew up with. I try to paint some of how I felt first playing these games. The painting measures 11 X 14 gallery wrapped canvas with the painting continuing all around the sides so it's ready to hang or frame if you choose."
