Angel of Promise is surrounded by tears in hopes of a cure from cancer. She is a special commission Angel for an Oncologist. She is drowning in her tears as the celestial floodgates open. Promise is heartfelt through all cancer survivors and their families. Her detail and texture breathes life into the ones who see her-a glimmer of hope. I chose the color combination of black and white to offer those in their perils of darkness a glimpse of light through the storm of survival.

I enjoy using Acrylic paint and deep brush strokes, often with a pallette knife, to bring "Life" into each one of my paintings. I found it facinating how the tears in this piece ran perfectly straight through the painting as if the tears were truly flowing. Acrylics are easy to water down to cause this effect.
