I like to create spritually themed mosaics. I am certain it was my Catholic upbringing. I especially enjoy the stained glass windows found in the churches all over the world. When I was making this, I had a stained glass window look in mind. These tiles are the Madonna and Christ as a child with colorful rays of sunshine beaming down on them. I took a china porcelain plate, handcut the center and rim and fit it all back together. I then painted it using heat set or "thermal paints".
