This painting was done as a gift for my mother, based on photographs of rural Wisconsin where she lives and grew up. It was based on photographs of the old mill. The color and the sky were imagined. The painting is acrylic but has the qualities of an oil painting.. I've used glazing of colors to give the painting depth and transparency I also relied on complimentary colors to make the piece glow.
