The Way We Dance (sold)

Art: The Way We Dance (sold) by Artist Virginia Ann Zuelsdorf
I used to go to a club in Chicago in the 80's called Exit and this piece is based on how we danced there. It was punk rock music, the ultimate in rebellion.

I deliberately kept the figures faceless so that the raw action of dancing could be emphasized. Throughout history and in various cultures and religions, dancing has been thought to be sinful. It's been said to be sexually arousing and decadent, as well as rebellious, and is not allowed in certain cultures. So am I a sinner for being free to dance? I think not and am grateful to be a part of a society that considers dance an art, not a sin.
