This painting was inspired by a trip to Cocoa Beach on the east side of Florida. I was there early in the morning and the sunrise made the water glow. I chose to represent the sea and sky in impressionistic colors and in a painterly fashion. I used a palette knife to create textures. There are transparent areas of color as well. I really like the softness of the horizon line. This waves draw you into the painting, and back to the horizon.
